Privacy Policy of Nepvents

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Nepvents (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your personal information when you access or use our website, mobile applications, or related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described herein.

1. Authentication Data: When you register using Google OAuth or GitHub OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and any other profile information you choose to share via the OAuth provider.
2. Profile Information: You may optionally provide additional details to complete your Nepvents profile, including full name, biography, skills, roles, portfolio links, and preferences for event notifications.
3. Email Preferences: Your settings regarding which types of event notifications and reminders you wish to receive.
4. Usage Data: We do not currently employ analytics or tracking services; however, we may use Google Search Console strictly for indexing diagnostics. No behavioral tracking (e.g., through cookies or pixels) is performed at this time.

• To authenticate your identity and secure access to your account;
• To maintain and manage your user profile;
• To send you event reminders, updates, and other communications in accordance with your preferences;
• To comply with legal obligations or protect our rights.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third-party marketers. We may disclose your information only as follows:

• To comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests;
• To enforce our Terms of Service or protect against misuse of the Service;
• With your consent or at your direction.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing nepvents@googlegroups.com. We will process such requests promptly and confirm when deletion is complete.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. However, no system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

Nepvents is based in Nepal. But the location of our server, database and infrastrucure may or may not be located in Nepal. If you access the service, your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located somewhere on the globe. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at nepvents@googlegroups.com so that we may delete it.

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time by posting the revised version on the Service with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
