KU Hackfest, one of the biggest events within IT Meet, is an international-level 48-hour hackathon scheduled for 24–26 December 2025 at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel.

The event aims to cultivate creativity, drive innovation, and empower talented individuals to solve real-world problems. By bringing together programmers, developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts from around the globe, KU Hackfest creates a dynamic environment for collaboration, learning, and knowledge sharing.

Building on past successes, KU Hackfest 2025 aspires to surpass previous iterations in both scope and impact.

Last year, KU Hackfest 2024 (September 29 – October 1) was Nepal’s largest in-person Major League Hacking (MLH) hackathon, attracting 501 applicants and resulting in 51 finalized projects. With a cash prize pool exceeding NPR 1,70,000, the event fostered teamwork, creativity, and innovation among young coders.

Team Details

Teams can have 2 to 4 members.
A maximum of 4 members per team is allowed.
Teams will be formed before the hackathon begins.

Who Can Participate?

Anyone interested in technology, coding, design, or problem-solving can participate.
Students, beginners, and professionals are all welcome.
No prior hackathon experience is required.

Participants can build projects under the following tracks:

• Open Innovation

What to Bring

Participants are requested to bring:

• Laptop and charger
• Valid ID card
• Any tools or accessories needed for comfortable work
• Warm clothes (recommended)
