Nepal’s First AI Hackathon for People with Disabilities

AIDA Hackathon (AI for People with Disability) is a groundbreaking initiative that blends a hackathon, conference, and social entrepreneurship. It brings together students, developers, and innovators to build AI-powered assistive technologies that enhance accessibility and transform lives.

This is Nepal’s first-ever national-level hackathon specifically focused on AI solutions for people with disabilities, making it a historic step toward inclusivity and innovation.

📅 Hackathon Details

📅 Date: 14th – 16th November 2025 (28 – 30 Kartik)
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM onwards
📍 Venue: Sunway College, Kathmandu
👥 Team Size: 3 to 4 members (with one assigned mentor per team)

🏆 Prize Pool

💰 Total Prize Pool: NRs. 2.5 Lakhs+
💵 Cash Prizes: NRs. 1,20,000

📝 Registration

⏳ Application Deadline: 26th September 2025
💵 Participation Fee (After Selection as Semi Finalist):

Nepali Teams: NRs. 5,000
SAARC Nations: USD 80
Others: USD 150

⚡ Special Waivers:
✅ Teams including any member with a disability are exempt from registration fees
✅ All-girls teams get a 50% scholarship

🎯 Hackathon Selection & Progression

🔹 4 teams from each theme will be shortlisted after the initial evaluation round
🔹 16 teams will be selected for the semifinal stage (registration confirmation required)
🔹 2 teams per theme will advance to the Grand Finale
🔹 In total, 8 finalist teams will compete in the residential hackathon
