Join us for “Getting Started with Linux & Cybersecurity”, a free hands-on workshop hosted by IT Club Pulchowk at Embark College. This event is designed to introduce beginners to the fundamentals of Linux and the exciting realm of cybersecurity — from basic commands to understanding how digital threats work. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or planning a career in cyber defense, this is your perfect starting point.

🐧 Day 1 – Linux Workshop

🔹 Introduction to Linux: OS overview, command line, kernel, boot process
🔹 User Management: Users, groups, root access, key system files
🔹 Permissions: File/process permissions, ownership, umask, setuid, setgid
🔹 System Monitoring: Tools like htop, vmstat, netstat, lsof, free, iotop
🔹 Core Concepts: Filesystem, devices, processes, and bash scripting basics

🌐 Day 2 – Networking Workshop

🔹 Networking Fundamentals: OSI & TCP/IP models
🔹 IP Addressing: Subnets, gateways, and routing basics
🔹 DNS and Routing: How domains resolve and routing works
🔹 Troubleshooting Tools: ping, traceroute, Wireshark
🔹 Security Intro: Firewalls, monitoring, and network safety

🔐 Day 3 – Cybersecurity Workshop

🔹 Cybersecurity Basics: CIA triad, threat models, red/blue/purple teams
🔹 Case Studies: Analysis of WannaCry, StuxNet, and real-life breaches
🔹 Hands-On Tools: nmap, Metasploit, and attack simulation tools
🔹 Forensics & Monitoring: Wireshark, SIEM, forensic utilities
